Root Canal Treatment
If you have an infected or decayed tooth, early diagnosis could prevent the spread of infection and impact on more teeth.
Infected tooth and untreated pulp of the tooth may lead to the loss of the tooth. However root canal treatment can save the tooth.
How do we do it?
Our dentists clean the pulp from the pulp chamber and root canals and disinfect the area to prevent further infection, and they fill the space with non-radiactive material and seal it. Next, the dentist uses filling or crown to re-establish the natural look.
Root canal procedure could save your teeth and it gives you one more option before dental implants.
Timeline
Depending on the level of complications, root canal treatment is usually completed in 1-2 visits.
During your first visit, the dentist does the usual dental exam and will take the X-rays of your teeth to determine if root canal is an option to consider.
As part of the root canal treatment, the dentist will first apply local anesthesia to numb the area of your mouth. Next, the dentist will clean the pulp, disinfect it, and reshape the space. Then the space is filled and sealed to prevent future infection.
After root canal treatment, crown or other restoration methods are applied to protect the tooth and allow the tooth function normally again.
