Removal of Teeth Stones and Teeth Whitening

You have probably experienced a yellow or brown colored deposit that forms on your teeth. Even if you regularly brush or floss your teeth this plaque may form, and strongly bonded to the tooth enamel. This buildup plaque and tartar can only be removed by a dental professional.

For a stone free oral health we strongly recommend 1 to 2 dental visits annually. Gum contouring (reshaping) is a routine procedure to remove plaque and tartar build up below the gum line. After removal of the build-up, by scrubbing teeth with special whitening paste, bacteria are also eliminated.

Removal of tartar and plauques and whitening will clean up stains resulting from cigarette use, tea and coffee etc. Also in the longrun it helps in preventing gum infections  and lowers the risk of cavity formations. Clean-up and whitening takes less than one hour and you leave our clinic with shinier and healthier teeth.

Tooth Fillings

Fillings treat cavities due to decaying of teeth or fractures or any other damages on teeth. For example, if a small part of your tooth breaks off, filling repairs it and returns the tooth back to its normal functioning form.

Fillings are used to close small gaps between teeth and re-establish symetric structure especially on front teeth. For natural feeling and looking teeth, we mostly use amalgam fillings, glass ionomer or tooth colored composite fillings.

Tooth Extraction

When we consider tooth extractions, we always examine whether or not we can save the tooth by other procedures such as root canal and tooth crowns.

If your teeth are suffering from deep fractures or cavities, or advanced gum diseases (surrounding the decayed tooth), root canal may not work anymore and therefore the extraction migth become the only solution.

Tooth extraction might be also suggested prior to applying braces if an extra gap is needed or if it would allow better alingment of teeth.

Mouth Guards

Do you find yourself clenching or grinding your teeth at night or when you get anxious?

Mouth guards (or night guards) may prevent further damage to your teeth due to clenching. They are custom made to be fitted to  lower or upper teeth. They serve as cushion between upper and lower teeth and this no-direct contact absorbs the shock or impact between lower and upper teeth.

Depending on when and how often you clench or grind your teeth, mouth guards can be used during the day time too. Mouth guards are also used in close contact sports to protect players’ teeth.

Mouth guards need to be used in right spots in mouth and they need to have right thickness and flexibility and they should not interfere with one’s speaking and breathing.
