Crowns & Bridge Crowns

Do you have one or more teeth missing? A good alternative to dentures could be permanent, natural looking crowns or bridge crowns. A crown is basically a shell that sits on a dental implant or restored tooth. When a crown is placed in a gap between two teeth it is called bridge crown. Crown or bridge crown could be a way for you to reach that desired smile.

How do we do it?

Dental Crowns

In order to bring the damaged teeth back to their natural and functional form again, as a final step in tooth restoration, crowns can be used.

Bridge Crowns

The bridge crown serves the purpose of filling in for a missing tooth. In a sense, when forming a bridge, the dentist places crowns pm either ends of the missing tooth and places an artifical tooth in between, connecting all three.

Bridges could help you with your ability to chew naturally again, help you bring back your desired smile and restore the shape your face, not to mention, possibly help you better pronounce sounds.

Timeline

Tooth Crowns

While completing the treatment of a damaged tooth with crowns, our dentists prepare tooth for molding process and take the impressioon of the tooth. Until the permanent crown is made by our labs, to prevent any damage to the tooth during the waiting period, a temporary plastic based crown is placed on top of the tooth. On your next visit the permanent crown is attached to the tooth.

Bridge Crowns

If you would like to replace a missing tooth with a bridge crown, our dentist will first determine whether the neihgboring teeth are healhty or not. As in the single crown, supporting teeth are minimially trimmed (to prepare them for crown attachments later), and impressions are taken for the lab.

While the bridge crown is prepared by the lab, to protect the supporting teeth on either end, they are covered with temporary crowns. On your second visit to our clinic, the temporary bridge crown is removed and the permanent bridge is bonded on two supporting teeth. We expect you to enjoy your smile again within 3 to 7 days.
