Composite Laminates
Composite laminates are tooth-colored very thin shells serving as crowns that require less amount of enamel to be removed from tooth for them to be placed. They are used in bringing back decayed tooth, in replacing eroded tooth surfaces and for aestatic purposes. They are ideal choice both in protecting teeth and in smile enhancement.
How do we do it?
Composite laminates are applied on teeth layer by layer. Each layer is hardened by ultraviolet light before the next layer application. Once desired shape and color is reached, the final product is buffed.
With composite dental laminates:
- Gaps between teeth can be closed.
- Chipped, eroded or fractured teeth are fixed.
- Stained or discolored, crooked or misaligned teeth can be alinged and the natural look can be established.
- Composite laminates can replace old, asthetically poor looking fillings.
Timeline
Before the treatment, first an oral exam is conducted, necessary X-rays and pictures are taken. After a discussion and planning with the patient, in 2 to 3 hours, composite laminates are applied, leading to aesthetically desired natural look.
